Otázky o trhu a firme:
- How do you view the market we operate in?
- Why would you like to work for this particular company?
- What main trends do you see influencing our industry in the next 3 years?
- What do you think of our marketing strategy?
- What do you think of the most recent developments on the market?
- Who do you think is our strongest competition on the market?
- If you were a new-appointed CEO of our company, what would you do in your first 100 days?
Klasické otázky (sú zatracované zástancami "najobjektívneho prístupu" vo vedení pohovorov: metódy Kompetencií. Avšak stále sú dosť rozšírené v praxi, a najmä v menších firmách. Na istých pozíciách majú význam - napríklad pri nábore predajcov):
- Talk us through your CV - Tell us about yourself
- What are your main strengths and weaknesses?
- How/Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
- What part of your previous job did you enjoy the most?
- What part you didnt enjoy at all?
- What do you consider to be your biggest achievements?
- If you were to get this job - what would be your main contribution to the team you think?
- What sort of person are you socially?
- Use three words to characterise yourself
- What makes you think you can be successful with us?
Teoretické otázky: (nemali by sa používať vôbec, pretože: 1, nemajú vypovedaciu hodnotu (kandidát sa môže podvedome štylizovať do niečoho, čím vôbec nie je, alebo aj vedome klamať) a 2, tieto otázky sú lepšie zodpovedané osobnostnými testami (psychometrickými testami):
- How do you work in a team?
- What part of the job would you delegate and what part of the job you would keep for yourself?
- How do you manage your day?
- What motivates you?
- What managerial style do you prefer to be managed with and what style do you use when managing people?
- How would you approach this specific task?
Pri týchto otázkach sa vie človek ľahko predať, ale zároveň vám napovedajú o tom, že rozhodnutie o pozícii bude urobené veľmi subjektívne. (A že firma neinvestuje do vzdelávania manažérov v oblasti zručností viesť pohovory.) Vaše odpovede sú vrcholovo teoretické (pretože otázka je teoretická), a tak všetko záleží len od dojmu, ktorý ste zanechali. Či je to dobré alebo nie, necháme posúdiť na vás.
Kompetenčné otázky: (ide o momentálne najviac uznávanú metódu pohovorov. Musí sa uznať, je zatiať najobjektívnejšia z metód kladenia otázok, hoci my veríme, že v budúcnosti sa táto metóda ďalej rozvinie. Je založená na konkretizovaných a definovaných kompetenciách, ktoré musí kandidát dokázať, že má. Na konkrétnu pozíciu personalista spolu s manažérom "našijú" kompetencie, ktoré budú pri pohovore analyzovať. Príkladom kompetencií sú: adaptabilita, orientácia na výsledky, osobná efektivita, delegovanie, prezentačné schopnosti, manažovanie veľkého tímu, organizačné schopnosti, schopnosť pracovať pod stresom, schopnosť multikulturálnej komunikácie atď).
Adaptabilita:
- Tell me about an important project you were working on for an internal client in which the specification changed. How did it affect you?
- Relationships with clients can vary. Tell me about the client with whom you've had the least effective relationship.
- Tell me about the most difficult manager that you have had to work for. How did you handle the relationship?
Orientácia na výsledky:
- What has been a goal for you to achieve?
- What example of a goal or a task can you give me that has presented the most obstacles for you to overcome?
- What have you done in your present position which has made you particularly proud? (vyberie si jednu z tých, ktorú ste uviedli a pokračuje): Whis sounds interesting. Tell me about it.
Attention to detail:
- We have all experienced times when we were just too busy to check all the details of a project. Tell me about a time when this happened to you and some errors slipped through.
- Describe a time when you identified a problem or error that has not been noticed by others.
- Tell me about a time when you thought you had completed an assignment or project, but your manager returned it for you to do additional work.
Creativity/Innovation:
- Tell me about a time when you came up with a new idea that was implemented. What was the result?
- Sometimes it is necessary to abandon tried and true methods of solving a problem. Tell me about a problem that you tried to solve but could not.
- In your current position, what have you done differently from your predecessors?
