For our client, an international production company in the electro-technical sector, we are searching for an experienced Plant Manager.The mission of the winning candidate will be to lead operational activities for the manufacturing plant to ensure alignment with operational objectives and KPIs in relation to Safety, Cost, Quality and Supply Chain Delivery.


The job will incorporate:

• Management of the plant operations (production, quality, material management - procurement and logistics, maintenance/facilities management and production engineering) to achieve operational KPIs in line with targets.
• Provide leadership for operations function consisting of  app. 50 operations staff and  200 shopfloor employees.
• In conjunction with the controls operations function and business segment leadership, develop and execute a manufacturing and sourcing strategy which meets business unit requirements.

Full job description:

• Achieve budgeted operational productivity, meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations on quality and delivery, create a Zero injury environment.
• Budget management for the business line in line with the business annual operating plan and strategic plan.
• Develop and manage manufacturing operations to achieve “Manufacturing Excellence” status.  This will involve the appropriate application of a wide variety of business improvement tools eg six sigma, just in time, Continuous Improvement etc to maximize synergies with other group plants and reduce cost through waste reduction, inventory management and improvement of flow.
• Development and management of operations colleagues to ensure that departmental and individual goals, priorities and KPIs are aligned with business and functional objectives (financial and operational).
• Provide leadership vision and performance coaching to operations colleague to ensure that goals are achieve and that bench strength is improved to facilitate succession planning.
• Preparation and presentation of routine operational reports on plant performance to senior management highlighting any risks and mitigating actions.

Requirements:

Technical Experience and Knowledge Required:

• Leadership experience of a multi-functional manufacturing facility, including Supply-chain, Quality and Material Management
• Leadership experience in a high volume electronics manufacturing environment - ideally focused on electronic and electromechanical consumer durables.
• Strong knowledge and experience of implementing Continuous Improvement principles including Lean Manufacturing / 6 Sigma and change adoption  – to achieve cost reduction and process improvement.
• Experience of working and managing within a matrix structure
• Experience of working in an ERP environment – previous experience of ERP implementation would be an advantage
• Experience in industrial relation would be an advantage

Education and languages required:

• Graduate / Post Graduate level education either in a business or engineering discipline
• CI/Six sigma training qualification preferred
• Fluent English and Slovak
